Bouvardia ternifolia ‘Firecracker’

An unusual but very pretty subshrub from the high regions of Mexico. This is an improved selection
which has larger flowers and a deeper reddish colour when in bud. Trumpet shaped tubular flowers which form a cluster appear in
summer. Great for sunny borders or patio pots with accompanying complimentary plants. Long flowering period. Great for pollinating insects.
Approximately 90cm tall x 50cm, whorls of small green leaves. New shoots appear in late spring from the base in the UK. Requires a well drained sunny site and some mulch in the winter months.
